Children will engage in three main components throughout the week including: Recreation and Leisure, Essential Life Skills, and Arts & Crafts, Drama and Music.

Hours of Operation:
The Before and After School Program is open Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 9:00AM and from 2:00PM to 6:00 PM. Accommodations are made for those individuals requiring additional care outside of operating hours and/or early dismissal days.

Background:
The Before and After School Program was developed out of several concerns. In the city of Edmonton, there is no known before and after school care facility for children over the age of twelve (12) with special needs. Although there have been accommodations for children with special needs to remain in child care facilities until the age of thirteen (13), and in rare situations longer, it still leaves little options for parents who have children over the age of twelve (12). Some parents have even reported that their child was asked to leave prior to the age of twelve (12). As a result of inadequate child care for children over the age of twelve (12), families have been faced with difficulties with attaining and maintaining employment with the uncertainties of finding consistent care in their home for their child.
